USPS, step up in drug fight

While saying The Blade “falsely implies” that the Postal Service is “not aggressively working” to keep dangerous drugs out of the United States, the Postal Service then concedes it could do a lot more. Specifically, it could refuse to deliver mail or packages from China without tracking information via advanced electronic data.

Yet, while the Postal Service has “informed” China “that any shipment without AED may be returned at any time,” they have not taken this step. The Postal Service’s inactions go against the letter and spirit of the STOP Act, the widely supported and recently enacted law championed by Ohio’s Sen. Rob Portman.
